An over-centre toggle latch for securing two members together comprises a latch housing 20 affixed to one of the members 120 and a keeper 100 having a projecting member affixed to the other of the members 124. Inside the housing is a toggle 50, mounted for pivotal movement by the keeper 100 between a first position and a second position. In the second position, the projecting member of the keeper 100 is retained within the housing. In the first position, the projecting member of the keeper 100 is released from the housing. A retaining means 70 disposed within the housing is in pivotal contact with the housing 20 and the toggle 50 for retaining the toggle 50 in either of the first or second positions. A switch 140 having a two-position push button actuator 141 is located in the housing such that when the toggle 50 is in the first position, the push button is actuated to a first position by a protruding tab 79 disposed on the retaining means 70. When the toggle 50 is in the second position, the push button 141 is actuated to a second position by the protruding tab 79.
