Each absorber constituent (32) has its own mixture chamber (44) in which the passages (42) of the constituent issue and is provided with flow-throttling outlet apertures for connection to a suction device. The absorber constituent with the absorption part (40) and mixture chamber comprises a one-piece ceramic body. The mixture chamber comprises crossing channels which run crossways to the passages and join them to one another. The passages extend over the complete depth of an absorber constituent, on the rear side of which they are closed. The closure is by means of ceramic material. Between the absorbent constituents is a seal of ceramic fibre material.
