<p>There is diclosed a wire electrode feed device comprising drive means used to rotate a spool which holds a wire electrode on the inner surface thereof by friction. The wire is drawn from the coil on the inside of the spool and is passed into a cantilevered inlet port of the wire guide, the cantilevered inlet port being flexible at the tip and relatively stiff at the root so as smootly to translate the rotational movement of the coil of wire into longitudinal movement of the wire passing through the wire guide. This device is useful for feeding a wire electrode to a processing zone such as an arc welding zone.</p> |
