Method for forming a laminate (26) and a product formed therefrom. A thin layer of oil (42) is applied to a facing surface (40) of at least one of a plurality of adjacent sheets (12, 16) and a wax (34) is applied along the longitudinal edges (36, 38) of a facing surface (32) of at least one of the sheets (12, 16). The sheets (12, 16) are combined into a laminate (26) by being passed between a pair of rollers (22, 24) which apply sufficient pressure to remove excess oil (42) from between the facing surfaces (32, 40) and to spread the wax (34) thereby forming a continuous seal along the longitudinal edges of the laminate (26). Air between the facing surfaces (32, 40) is displaced by the oil (42) and the wax (34) forms the seal to prevent reentry of the air and seepage of the oil (42) along the longitudinal edges of the laminate (26). The laminate (26) is tightly held together to permit handling or fabrication without delamination.
