Machine for laying slabs and tiles with frame moving on rails

Tiles or slabs are laid on a floor using a machine with a mobile support frame (1) moving on guide rails, having beam sections (2) in which a trolley (3) with cleaning device and slab holder (4) moves on tracks at right angles to the guide rails. Preferably the slab holder moves vertically to transport palleted slabs or tiles taken from a temporary store (5) with clamping tongs (7). The underside of the slab or tile is cleaned by a cleaning medium applied from the underside of the holder under pressure and it is then lowered into position and pressed into place.
