Cooler without casing, especially to cool oils in vehicle engines

The cooler has no casing, and is especially for cooling oils in car engines. It has heat-exchanger panels which are stacked and sealed against one another, in order to form at least two separate flow channels. The group of panels are bordered by a baseplate (2) and a covering plate (3), and have fluid connection nozzles (5) at their sides. The baseplate and covering plate project partially over the group of panels, in order to form a channel (10), which has an overhanging region in which the nozzles are accommodated. The channel preferably may be connected to the flow channel (11) for the coolant, and the baseplate may have at least one outlet opening (7) to accept a connection nozzle.
