Rolling bearing unit especially for shaft with axial and rotary motion

The unit (1) has a cylindrical or needle roller and a ball bearing, and is especially used on an element or shaft (2) which executes longitudinal and rotary motion. Each of these directions of motion is associated with a rolling body (4,5), whose radial dimensions differ from each other, and which are separated from one another circumferentially by a cage (6). The rolling bodies are guided by at least one bearing ring, whose length exceeds an axial length of the cage. The rolling bodies (5) which are associated with the longitudinal motion, are in the form of balls which are set in pockets (8) in the cage, whose length (X) corresponds to a half-stroke (S) of the shaft.
