A method for collecting calibrated cylindrical bone grafts, optionally from the same patient who is to receive the grafts in another part of his or her body, is disclosed. For this purpose, surgical steel equipment is provided that consists of a trephine (D) for use with a screwing/unscrewing spanner (E), an extractor plunger (F) and an electric or air motor for use in bone surgery. The trephine (D) consists of three separable portions, i.e. a cutting tool (A) having teeth (2) for coring the bone using a pilot hole and accurately positioned in a non-slip manner by the lancet (15) of a centring guide (B), and an intermediate portion (C) on which the other two portions (A, B) can be easily, effortlessly and releasably screwed in respective positions (16, 21) by means of the spanner (E) corresponding to the size of the trephine in question. The spanner can engage recesses (5, 13) on portion A then portion B to lock them while the motor rotates them clockwise or anti-clockwise. Said equipment enables a number of bone grafts to be collected quickly and easily and removed from the cutting tool using the extractor plunger operated manually or by means of a mallet. Moreover, the equipment can be handled very reliably and may be used in all kinds of bone surgery on humans or animals.
|
