The transfer medium (12) has a conductive base material and superimposed transfer surface. A toner modulator (32), between the toner feeder container (30) and the transfer surface (16), has an opening defining a toner ejection path. A first supply source transfers electric potential to the transfer medium. A second supply source modulates an electric potential on the toner modulation opening. A toner transfer appliance (20) transfers the toner pattern from the transfer surface to the printing medium. A toner fixture (20) fixes the toner pattern on the printing medium.
