984,733. Capacitors. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. March 7, 1963 [March 7, 1962], No. 9162/63. Drawings to Specification. Heading H1M. An electrolytic capacitor comprises foils of tantalum or other film-forming metal etched and anodically oxidized; interspaced by sheets of dielectric material, e.g. kraft paper or glass fibre rolled and inserted in a tubular case with extending wire connections, impregnated with an electrolyte of oxalic acid and ammonium oxalate dissolved in N.N. dimethyl formamide with a small quantity of water, and sealed in the case with synthetic resin plugs. The electrolyte may be prepared by dissolving oxalic acid in the N.N. dimethyl formamide and adding ammonium carbonate or infiltrating ammonia gas. The capacitor may be polar or non-polar, and may be other than roll type. |
