<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the time of sidewise movement by moving a movable member sidewise from a position slightly separated from a sheet size position based on the data of sheet size for each sheet, to the sheet size position during stapling operation. CONSTITUTION:During an automatic stale mode, a sheet S which has been introduced from an image forming device onto a staple tray 52a in a finisher device through a conveying path, is made to abut against a stopper 62 so as to be aligned at its front and rear positions. Further, during the first copied sheet S is discharged, a control section drives a stepping motor 90 to move a sidewise moving plate 89 from a home position to a selected sheet size position, and after the alignment of the sheet S between a stationary plate 87 and the sidewise moving plate 89, the latter is retracted from the associated end of the sheet S by about 10mm. The sheets S subsequent to the second sheet are sidewise moved by moving the sidewise moving plate 89 from that position. Thus, it is possible to shorten the time of sidewise movement and to efficiently manage the image forming device.</p> |
