Implantable pacemaker lead

A lead (20) for use with an implanted pulse generator (10) which may be a pacemaker and/or a defibrillator. The lead (20) can deliver an electrical charge to cardiovert or defibrillate the ventricles of the heart (12) via a large surface area defibrillation electrode (32) which is passively implanted in the ventricle. The defibrillation electrode (32) is designed to produce a uniform defibrillation charge distribution. <IMAGE>
