<p>The invention relates to a method of measuring characteristics of formations around a borehole. A sonde (22) having an elongate body (17) provided with an annular current electrode (A0) and with two annular guard electrodes (A1, A'1) is inserted into the borehole (10). Computed focusing is performed on the basis of two effective operating modes implementing current emissions to different penetration depths in the surrounding formations (11).
