Mounting for the side section of a bumper

The holder (13) is formed integral on the stamped sheet metal car wing. It has a first flat surface section (17) adjoined at an inwardly inclined angle of about 32 degs. forming a first edge (19) by a second surface section (21). This surface section passes forming a second edge (23) into a third trapezoidal surface section (21) inclined outwards by an angle of about 51 degrees. The front edge (27) of this third section is bent outwards forming a flange (29). The lower edges of the first and second surface sections are bent inwards forming reinforcement flanges. These sections have a common inwardly directed impression (35) beginning in the centre of the second surface (21) and passing into the first section. Two vertically spaced horizontal swages (47) pass over the second edge (23) and reinforce the connection between the second and third surface sections. A socket bore (49) is provided level between the two swages.
