PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vehicle and power source thereof which enable prevention of occurrence of a leak from an unspecified place even when water penetrates into the electric vehicle. SOLUTION: In a battery unit 20, a waterproof case 22 and a float chamber 26 on the lateral side of the case are provided integrally. When water begins to penetrate into an electric vehicle, it enters through a water passing port 30 formed in the bottom of the float chamber 26 and, therefore, a float 31 begins to float up. When a water level rises to a certain height, a pullcord 32 connected with the float 31 pulls a rubber plug 28 upward and pulls it out of a communication port 27. As the result, the water penetrates into the waterproof case 22 and a group of terminals 21a of a battery element 21 is put in a state of immersion. Therefore a short circuit occurs between the terminals 21a in a battery unit 20 and thus occurrence of a leak in another part can be prevented reliably. |
