PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure and reduce the weight and power consumption, easily fix an observation area, and stably observe a stereoscopic image by splitting luminous flux emitted from right and left striped pixels and projecting it on a concave mirror, and forming virtual images of parallax images with luminous flux reflected by the concave surface mirror. SOLUTION: The luminous flux from the right and left striped pixels which is projected on the concave surface mirror 8 is reflected by the concave surface mirror 8 to form virtual images 11 of striped images displayed on a display element 1 in front of an observer at a distance. The luminous flux from the right and left striped pixels on the display element 1 is directed differently when exiting from a lenticular lens 3, so the luminous flux from the left and right striped pixels form the virtual images L' and R' at the same position to the same size. The virtual images L' and R' can be observed with the left eye 4L and right eye 4R while completely separated. Therefore, the observer recognizes the virtual images L' and R' of the parallax images as a stereoscopic image through the retinae and brain. |
