PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect residual fouling with good sensitivity by providing a thin film electrode on the inner wall surface of a vessel, monitoring the fouling state of the electrode surface from the change pattern of its potential and electric capacity, and detecting the presence of fouling. SOLUTION: A nozzle 13 for injecting a cleaning solvent is provided within a product manufacturing tank 12, and thin film electrodes 1A-3A are also circumferentially provided on the insert part for the nozzle 13, the inner wall surface of the lid of a culture tank, and the gas-liquid critical surface of culture solution, and connected to a control part 11. During cleaning process, a prescribed voltage is applied between the electrodes 1A, 3A and between 2A, 3A, and the change with the lapse of time of the potential and electric capacity between them is monitored. The electrodes are connected through the liquid membranes of the cleaning solvent and a rinsing solution, and the potential and electric capacitand values in non-fouling state are stored in the control part 11, and these values are compared with the measured values to judge the presence of fouling. The contamination or reduction in quality of a product by bad cleaning can be prevented. |
