PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the electronic stringed instrument which can delicately change the timbre of a musical sound according to a string strumming direction. SOLUTION: When a string tensed on a main body is strummed, vibrations of the string in plural directions are detected by sensor parts 22-24 and detection signals are supplied to a control part 26. The control part 26 generates musical sound data according to the signals from the sensor parts 22-24 and a fret switch part 25 and outputs the data to a sound source 29. The sound source 29 reads waveform data out of a waveform memory 33 according to the musical sound data from the control part 28 and generates a musical sound signal of a pitch specified by the fret switch part 24 with timbre characteristics corresponding to the string vibration state. |
