<p>Device for gripping and holding a flat, pref. circular substrate (3) with a central hole (19), esp. a compact disc, comprises several gripper fingers (4,5) mounted pivotably in openings (21) in the head (6) of a housing (20), allowing the grippers (4,5) to pivot about axes transverse to the longitudinal axis (L) of the housing and in one plane (e), with the grippers arranged in polygon formation about the longitudinal axis (L). The grippers (4,5) have permanent magnets (11,12) fixed at the upper end, which interact with an electromagnet (13) mounted above in the housing (20) having a magnetic field axis coincident with the longitudinal axis (L), to move the gripper ends with permanent magnets between two stops (16,17) according to the polarity of the electromagnet (13).</p> |
