PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent toner, which is left with the polarity opposite to that of electrostatic charging of the toner and passing through a cleaning member, from sticking to an electrostatic charging means by installing a charge imparting means for imparting a charge with the same polarity as that of electrostatic charging of the toner in developing. SOLUTION: The charge imparting means, for example, a needle-like electrostatic charger 9 is installed opposite to a photoreceptor 1 on the downstream side of a cleaning roller 12 and on the upstream side of an electrostatic charging roller 2 as the electrostatic charging means in the rotating direction of the photoreceptor 1. The charge with the same positive polarity as the electrostatic charging polarity of the toner in developing is given by the needle-like electrode charger 9 as the charge imparting means to such as toner that passes through the cleaning roller 12 without being recovered by the cleaning roller 12, and that is left with the electrostatic charging polarity opposite to that in developing without being arranged to the electrostatic charging polarity of the toner in developing. |
