PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce a code error rate without increasing a circuit scale even when combining with various circuits by using a characteristic of a noise incorporated in an output of a magnetic recording/reproducing device and detecting/correcting a code error. SOLUTION: A code error correction circuit part decides the presence of the code error of a Z value detection circuit of the output of a noise extracting device 1. A signal band judgement circuit 9 detects a spectrum related to consecutive three bits until the present point of time at every bit timing. When the circuit 9 detects an instantaneous signal line with a large low band component among an input signal, the circuit 9 turns an output flag ON to input the flag to a delay circuit 10 of a next stage as an identification signal. The delay circuit 10 adjusts a delay amount of a three bits unit spectrum detection circuit output to output it to a noise judging circuit 11. The noise judging circuit 11 is provided with an operation circuit of a noise effective value by in three bits, a low band setting/storage circuit and a noise decision circuit, and the circuit 11 noise decides by comparing the maximum value of theσregarded as the noise in a low band signal with theσ.
