PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a developer carrier which can realize stable developing performance without causing a development ghost by forming a resin layer on the surface of the base body of a developer carrier in such a manner that conductive fine particles having a specified particle size are exposed on the whole surface of the resin layer. SOLUTION: This developer carrier 1 consists of a cylindrical base body 2 and a resin layer 4 formed on the surface of the base body 2 in such a manner that minute conductive fine particles 3 are exposed on the whole surface. The conductive fine particles 3 have 1/10 or smaller particle size as the volume average particle size of a one-component developer. The base resin to constitute the resin layer 4 is a phenol resin or the like. As for the conductive fine particles 3 having <=1/10 particle size as the volume average particle size of a developer, carbon black, graphite, etc., can be used. Further, a conductive material having >=2.0μm volume average particle size may be added as well as the conductive fine particles 3 to the resin layer 4 at one time. Thereby, the fluidity of a developer on the developer carrier can be significantly improved and stable development without producing a ghost can be performed. |
