PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the individual difference of real ability in electrifying performance and to obtain the stable electrifying performance even after a long time elapses from an initial stage even under various kinds of environment by controlling the waveform of an alternating current. SOLUTION: The waveform of the alternating current supplied from a magnetic brush 2 as a contact electrifying member to a photoreceptor 1 as a body to be electrified is adjusted. Namely, the positive and the negative components of the alternating current are separated by using a diode (d) and allowed to pass through a resistor R respectively, so that the alternating current is monitored. After the alternating current value is converted to a digital value by A/D converters 81 and 82, it is inputted in a CPU 84. A value Imax being the maximum value in the alternating current data is compared with a target value Imax stored in a ROM 85 as the data by the CPU 84, and the new waveform obtained by changing the waveform of AC voltage outputted from a power source S1 is outputted as a control signal from the CPU 84. The control signal is converted to an analog value by a D/A converter 83 and transmitted to the power source S1 so as to output the new waveform of AC voltage. |
