PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the image forming device which obtains a satisfactory color reproducibility with various document types and color materials by an easy method. SOLUTION: A document picture is read as picture signals of plural colors by a scanner 401 or the like, and read picture signals are transformed to gray level image signals by a gray level processing part 411, and an image is formed by a printer 412. In this process, a hue discrimination circuit 422 classifies RGB color image signals into prescribed areas and changes matrix coefficient values of a color conversion/UCR circuit 406 to perform operation and correction of the hue. In this correction, for example at least one of the gray level transformation characteristic of read signals and the transformation characteristic from read signals subjected to gray level transformation to image signals for formation of a color image is changed in accordance with the read signal obtained by reading a designated position of a first document and the read signal obtained by reading a designated position of a second document. |
