PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an already thermally denatured processed laver, having moistureproofness, hardly being dampened even when placing or rolling the processed laver on a food containing moisture such as cooked rice or a rice cake and kept in a state enabling the direct eating. SOLUTION: This processed laver 1 is obtained by coating a prescribed range of >=30% based on the area of at least one surface of a sheet laver comprising a toasted, a seasoned or a dried laver with a wax, a glycerol ester of a fatty acid, a mixture thereof or a melting point-regulated mixture containing >=30wt.% ingredient and regulated to 45-240 deg.C melting point and, as necessary, containing a seasoning, etc., mixed therein at >=5% weight ratio based on the weight of the laver sheet on one surface per unit area or <=100% weight ratio based on the weight of the laver sheet on both surfaces, then passing the resultant sheet laver through an atmosphere at a prescribed temperature or above to <=240 deg.C in a short time, heat-treating the laver, subsequently cooling the laver while maintaining the quality of the toasted or seasoned laver and forming a moistureproof film 3 on the sheet laver body 2. |
