PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably conduct washing and dewatering operations in a washing machine for clothing provided with a spin tub where clothing to be washed in a water vessel is stored and a vertical shaft type agitator in the spin tub. SOLUTION: A washing machine driving device having an electric motor 30 and a vertical shaft 10 rotatably vibrates an agitator 7, and rotates a spin tub 4 and the agitator 7 together in one direction. The mutual connecting means between the pin tub 4 and the agitator 7 is adapted to mutually connected the spin tub 4 and the agitator 7 to be rotated together in one direction by the vertical shaft 10, and the spin tub 4 is separated from the agitator 7 to be rotatably vibrated by the rotary vibration of a rotator to cause washing operation.
