DETACHABLE MAGNET CARRIER FOR ELECTRIC MACHINE USING HIGH ENERGY PRODUCT PERMANENT MAGNET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnet carrier assembly being fixed removably to the rotor of an electric machine suitable for holding and carrying a high energy product permanent magnet. SOLUTION: A high energy product permanent magnet 68 is arranged in a container 32 and applied with a cover 70. A magnetic carrier assembly 30 is provided, at one end thereof, with a mounting flange 41 and, at the other end thereof, with a tab 62 in order to fix the assembly to the rotor. The magnetic carrier assembly 30 can be employed for both axial field disc type rotor and radial field drum type rotor. Method and apparatus for fixing the magnetic carrier assembly 30 to an electric machine or removing therefrom are also provided.
