PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a stable engaging state between a rocking plate and a toothed rail to be small and low cost in spite of adopting a small case. SOLUTION: This linear motion device is provided with a toothed rail 40, a linear driving mechanism 50 having a pulurality of rocking plates 53, crankshafts 54, 55, and a case 51 and guide means for relatively and movably guiding the case 51 along the toothed rail 40. The case 51 is provided with a pair of swash plate parts guided by guide means at both ends of tooth breadth direction of the rail 40, a pair of end plate parts 63, 64 connecting both end parts of the swash plate parts 61, 62 located at both ends of the rocking plate 53 in the longitudinal direction of the rail 40 and a connecting part 521 connecting intermediate part of the swash plate located between crankshafts 54, 55 in the longitudinal direction of the rail. The rocking plate is preferable to be penetrated by the connecting part 521. |
