PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation device having a large vertical loading ability, which can be used in place of a conventional layered rubber bearing, by using a rubber body, which is not formed into the layered structure and which can be used in a large range of selection, and to give a vibration damping function having the same working point with the restoring force of the base isolation device. SOLUTION: A columnar rubber body 11 is arranged under a structure so as to support the vertical load thereof, and a constraint body 12 for containing the outward swelling of the rubber body is arranged in the periphery of the rubber body 11. This constraint body 12 is formed by overlapping an annular rubber elastic body 13 and an annular hard plate 14 with each other, and plural layers of this overlapped body are laminated through an anti-friction material 15 in the periphery of the rubber body 11. |
