PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce shift shock at the time of downshift, enchance fuel consumption rate and obtain sufficient engine brake effect by reasonablly controlling a lock-up mechanism of automatic transmission. SOLUTION: When torque up control finishes at the time of downshift (S24) lock-up clutch 23 is made almost direct connection state (26). After a prescribed time TDWLC elapses (S27) or when the number of engine revolutions NE or vehicle speed V lowers under prescribed values (S28, S29) or when accelerator openingθAP is made larger than a prescribed opening (S30), it returns to normal lock-up control (S31). |
