PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a superconducting wire with its high critical current density through a small number of processes by applying an artificial pinning center by using a Nb foil and Nb-Ti alloy foil as a material for the primary stack wire. SOLUTION: A Nb foil 1 of 50μm thick is wound for 10 turns on a copper rod 3 6mm in outer diameter, on which a Nb-47wt.% Ti foil 2 of 100μm thick is superimposed and wound for 53 turns, and said Nb foil 1 is wound for 10 turns. This is inserted into a cupper pipe of 28mm in outer diameter and 24.8mm in inner diameter and serves as a billet for pushing out, preheated to 400 deg.C, and pushed out to an outer diameter of 10mm with a static water pressure. This is extended and processed for a hexagon-section shaped primary stack wire 5 of 0.805mm in the distance between opposite side surfaces. 648 wires of said wire rods 5 are built in at the outer peripheral part of 199 hexagon section shaped copper wires of 0.805mm in opposite side distance at the center part of a copper pipe of 29.1mm in outer diameter and 25.7mm in inner diameter, preheated to 400 deg.C, and pushed out to an outer diameter of 10mm with the static water pressure. This is twisted-processed to be 0.08 in outer diameter, and a secondary stack wire rod 7 is obtained.
