PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability in the case of brake abnormality by providing a brake means and a speed detective means to a balance weight constituting a linear motor. SOLUTION: A well bucket type elevator is constituted by setting a rope 3 on a pully 4 mounted on the uppermost part of an elevator shaft and an armature 6 (primary winding side) of the linear motor is arranged vertically at the position facing along the side of the balancing weight 2 and on the surface, a primary coil 61 is mounted distributively in the thrust generating direction that is vertical direction. On the side of the balancing weight 2 facing to the armature 6, a laminating body of a conductive plate 52 and a magnetic plate 53 are mounted to be a rotor of the linear motor. A controller 10 supplies the primary coil 61 of the armature 6 of the linear motor with three phase variable voltage alternative current of variable frequency to provide the balancing weight 2 with the driving force of prescribed direction and prescribed magnitude and controls the traveling of an elevator car 1. |
