PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify operation for setting a timbre and a scale. SOLUTION: Plural storage parts corresponding to plural voices are provided and timbre specification information and scale specification information are stored by the storage parts. When an arbitrary voice selection switch V(n) among plural voice selection switches is turned on and then timbre specification information and scale specification information are read out of the storage part VCMEM(n) corresponding to V(n) in a step 64; and the timbre of the musical tone signal of a sound source is set in a step 68 according to the timbre specification information and the pitch of the musical tone signal of the sound source is set in a step 70 according to the scale that the scale specification information specifies.
