PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct a high resolution dither processing and to obtain a stable reproduced picture having both a high degree of resolution and high degree of gradation by including a threshold array which decides the on/off of output picture elements by comparing with input picture elements and an error buffer which stores the errors caused by the output picture element dicision. SOLUTION: A comparison means 4 subtracts the value of a threshold array 5 from the value obtd. by adding an error input 8 for each 3×3 picture element block of a buffer 3a. The total sum is outputted to an output buffer 6a as the binarized value operated by an error queue 7 and a quantizing means 9. On the other hand, input buffers 6a and 6b multiply the error of the processed block in the vicinity of the 3×3 picture element block by an error value stored in the error queue 7, add and transmit it to the means 4 as the error input 8. The threshold array 5 is switched by a switching means 10 at every color. Then, while the buffer 3a processes the comparison process object, next data are inputted to an input buffer 3b and the buffer 3b is switched to the comparison process object. |
