PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive automatic document feeder which can be made small in size and light in weight by shortening a feeding path for a double-sided document and simplifying structure. SOLUTION: In the case of feeding the double-sided document, the document is switched back from a switchback path 22 and then returned to a slit glass 2 through a reversing path 23 and a 1st feeding path 13 in a loop state. The document is fed from a 2nd feeding path 17 to the switchback path 22 and also fed from the switchback path 22 to the reversing path 23 by 1st and 2nd driven roller 19 and 24 sliding and contacting with a driving roller 18. Furthermore, the document is fed along the reversing path 23 by driving the roller 18 again after the document in the switchback path 22 is allowed to abut on a nip part between the rollers 18 and 24. |
