PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove excessive carrier liquid without vaporizing carrier liquid for disturbing a liquid toner image in liquid development. SOLUTION: An excessive carrier liquid removing device 22A is composed of a housing 24 which forms a chamber 26, an aperture 28 piercing the housing 24 to the chamber 26 in order to attach the device 22A to be opposed to a liquid toner image supporting surface 16, a developing roller 30 rotatably attached to the housing 24 and forming an image processing nip in cooperation with the liquid toner image supporting surface, and an air pressure generating device 40 related to the housing 24 so that an air pressure difference may be made in the chamber from the image entrance 32 side of the nip to the image exit 34 side in order to exert desirable influence on the carrier liquid passing through the nip without vaporizing the carrier liquid nor disturbing the liquid toner image. |
