PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a palatable and safe container made of a styrenic resin foamed sheet markedly reduced in the opportunity of the direct touch of the sharp edge formed to the mouth cut part of the container with a lip, preventing the laceration by the sharp edge even if the lip touches with the cut part and to produce the container by an industrially easy method. SOLUTION: A styrenic resin foamed sheet is molded under heating to mold a container main body 11 and the opening part 12 of the container main body is cut so as to leave an external mouth part 18 around the opening part 12 to form a container. The outwardly extending opening flange 13 is formed to the periphery of the opening part of the container main body and the skirt part 14 extending downwardly is integrally formed to the outer peripheral edge of the opening flange and the lower end surface of the skirt part is cut in the direction parallel to the bottom surface 16 of the container main body to form a mouth part. The edge of the cut surface of the skirt part is heated to be rounded.
