FIELD: mining industry; technology of coal mining. SUBSTANCE: the offered method includes division of levels into sublevels, driving of raises and horizontal development workings, coal getting by pillar-and-board system to dip with leaving of level coal pillar of stable shape, coal getting in sublevels with temporary leaving of coal pillars of stable shape which are extracted after caving of seam roof rocks in sublevel and after coal discharge from the worked sublevel through the half of seam thickness. Inclined height of sublevel is taken not less the value ensuring self-caving of seam-roof rocks at the beginning of coal discharge from sublevel, and it is selected to be multiple to the value of projection of axis of ellipsoid of discharge on the plane of seam floor.
