Conducting bar for high voltage metal clad electrical equipment

The conducting bar (1) comprises a tubular metal cylinder of diameter (D) connected to a similar but smaller section tubular cylinder (5) of diameter (d) by a transitional conical section (6). The smaller section cylinder (5) is connected to an isolator (4) by a flange (3). The transitional section (6) is inclined to the axis of the bar by 45 degrees and includes two symmetrical slots in it's surface which follow radial paths of differing radii. The edges of the slots and the edges of the transitional section are rounded.
