Automatic feeding system for calves dispensing e.g. milk

A unit for feeding calves automatically comprises: (1) a storage hopper for dried food, e.g. milk powder, (2) a mixing vessel with suction line, and (3) a dosing device taking dried powder from the hopper to the mixing vessel. There is also a water heater with temp. sensor. A second temp. sensor is connected to a computer providing process control in terms of individual preloaded data for the calves. The device is pref. transportable. In this original design, parallel to the water heater (30) there is a valved (48) cold water supply (42) to the mixing vessel (52) with temp. sensor for cold water or additional food. The process computer (97) adjusts temp. in accordance with the required temps. and quantities of food in the mixing vessel, and controls quantities of warm and cold water, by adjusting the valves (46, 48) in the lines (38, 42).
