The control for the synchronous drive motors (12a1-12a4;12b1-12b4;12c1-12c4) for the cylinders of drawing units, especially in a ring spinning assembly, has an output (22a) to deliver a signal to the frequency control input (18a) of a (18) frequency control setter (16a-16c;18) and a voltage-controlled mother frequency generation circuit (24), for a parent frequency signal to be sent according to the signal to the inputs (16a1-16c1) of the respective frequency setters (26a-26c). They give a division into different sub-frequencies to give the required drafting action at the drawing system to be passed to the frequency control inputs (16a1-16c1) of the remaining frequency setters (16a-16c).
