Container for housing burnt out elements of nuclear power plant
摘要
The container for housing burnt out fuel rods from a nuclear power plant is made from a steel containing boron. The steel is made by mixing boron oxide enriched with the boron isotope <10>B with iron to produce a ferro-boron alloy which is comminuted before adding to a steel melt. The steel casting is rolled to produce sheet which is formed into the container (13) for housing the rods (14).
