The medical therapy and/or diagnostic unit (1) has an arrangement (5, 7) determining its respective position and state. The first detector (5) of the two detectors is designed as an operational detachable fitted part. The medical therapy and/or diagnostic unit has a coupling unit (17) for applying the fitted part (5) across a sterilising sleeve (15) surrounding the therapy and/or diagnostic unit. The positionally fixed second detector (7) is separated by a signal stretch from the first detector. The coupling unit (17) and the attachment part (5) have securing parts (21, 23, 25, 27, 35) applied on alterate sides for a corresp. engagement, which by a selected positional relationship is produced, between the attachment part (5) to be fitted and the medical therapy and/or diagnostic unit.
