An information medium (34) laid in the clamping apparatus is retained by mushroom-shaped holding elements (8a to 8e and 10a to 10c), the latter projecting, by means of the collar (9), beyond the surface of the information medium (34) that is to be imprinted. A movable slider (4), to which the mushroom-shaped holding elements (8a, 8b, 8c, 8d, and 8e) are joined, is provided for this purpose on a baseplate (2). Provided beneath the baseplate (2) is a bottom plate (12) which can be moved perpendicular to the baseplate (2) under spring pressure. The bottom plate (12) possesses contact elements (22) which pass through the baseplate and, when the bottom plate (12) is elevated, press the information medium (34) that has been laid in against the collars (9) of the mushroom-shaped holding elements (8a to 8e and 10a to 10c). The clamping process occurs automatically.
