The device is used for the rapid heating of metal bolts, especially those which are extruded from a light alloy, and is divided into heating zones with separate temperature regulation. Each zone has at least one ventilator (3) which is suitable for operation in a high gas temperature. The ventilators circulate the gas volume inside the zone in order to transfer heat to the bolt by convection. The last heating zone, when viewed in the direction of transport of the bolt, operates with the lowest gas temperature. The ventilators may be of the radial type, and these may have drums which can operate in a 360 deg spiral casing (9) with a straight outlet channel (4).
