<p>An operation apparatus is connected to an image display apparatus for generating image data to be displayed on a display in accordance with a program. The operation apparatus supplies those signals which impart changes to the image data in accordance with the operation of an operator to the image display apparatus. A joystick includes a lever and a disk that turns with the motion of the lever, and the revolution of the disk is detected by a photointerrupter. Pulses from the photointerrupter are counted by a counter which can be reset by a reset signal. The reset signal is applied from a CPU of the image display apparatus to the counter when three buttons are simultaneously pushed or a power source is turned ON.</p> |
