The invention relates to an electric power store independent of the outside atmosphere consisting of a container with a battery with battery cells, a control device and the electrolytes and gases required for the operation of the battery and flowing into the individual batteries in separate containers. The special feature of the invention is that there are at least two metal electrodes in the individual battery cells which contain zinc and that the electrochemical reaction taking place in the battery cells is initiated and maintained by the blowing-in of technical pure oxygen.
