Upholstered support incorporated into spring mattress for e.g. beds

The support is placed between a spring base and upholstery in a mattress. Abrasion-resistant material with limited compliance is used to make the support. The support (6,7) comprises a base plate (2,3) containing at least one zone of spaced holes which reduce plate stiffness in that zone. The support also includes a cover plate (4,5) for covering the upholstered side of (A) and holding the upholstery flat against it.
