<p>A board game includes a board providing a playing or display surface and means for directing light preferentially and selectively, for example in accordance with player input and/or with the rules of the game and/or in accordance with an educational, illustrative or entertainment programme, to selected areas of the playing or display surface. Playing pieces are provided, the playing pieces being arranged to interact physically and either the board or the pieces or both incorporating electronic processing means and display means controlled thereby. Interaction between the board and pieces may be by way of transmission of lights (including infrared or ultraviolet radiation), by electromagnetic induction, by ultrasound or by electrical contact.</p> |
