Comber web guide and monitor

To guide and monitor the combed web at a comber, a funnel (4) which is open upwards is between the detaching and take-off paired rollers (1,2) across the direction of web (6) travel. The surface contours form a common horizontal gap (W) with the cross section of all the rollers (11,12,21,22), matching the thickness of the web (6) when it is not under loading. The funnel (4) is held elastically in place on the horizontal direction, and works with contacts (52,53) fixed to the frame, parallel to the movement plane of the web (6). The contacts (52,53) are part of switches in the current supply circuit, to disconnect and stop the machine drive. The funnel (4) is of a non-conductive ceramic material.
